Recently I've noticed that there are quite a few bad drivers on the road. It amazes me that despite the necessity to pass a state driver's test and know the rules of the road, people still don't know how to drive. I've thought that maybe it's because of distractions and disregard for other drivers.
Here are a few simple driving tips:
1) Patience
2) Get off the cell phone
3) Be courteous
Here's my explanation for the three tips. 1) I always laugh at the people that fly down the road or cut people off because they're in a hurry to get somewhere. The laugh comes when I pass them up at the next stoplight. If people were more patient while driving, there would be fewer accidents and near death experiences.
2) When you talk or text on a cell phone, your attention is completely taken up by the phone. This causes a lack of awareness of the drivers around you. I have been cut off more times by someone that is using a cell phone than anyone else. Although, one time I was in Texas and got cut off by an old grandma. I think she was about six inches from hitting me.
3) Courtesy would allow for a better driving experience for everyone. Think about it, if you're nice to the other drivers they're not going to get mad at you. I was talking with a friend about driving one time, and he was telling me one of his stories. If somebody cut him off, he was determined to cut them off. It didn't matter how fast they were driving, he was going to get them back. Thank goodness he doesn't do it any more.
Just think about these suggestions. I for one, would love to feel a little bit safer on the road.
Driving safely is always a great thing to follow. And these three keys are very helpful and easy to remember. If everyone will keep this in mind, the road will be a safe place for sure. To be safe, just don't put any alcoholic drinks within reach while driving. Thanks for sharing!
